Name Description
West Coast Swing West Coast Swing (WCS) is a popular, fun and compelling partner dance. It has a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection, and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together. It's danced to a variety of medium tempo music that can be bluesy, playful and sultry.
Hustle The Hustle is the catch-all name for disco dances which were extremely popular in the 1970s. Today it mostly refers to the unique partner dance done in ballrooms and nightclubs to contemporary pop music. It has some features in common with swing dance. Modern partner hustle is sometimes referred to as New York Hustle.
Theatrical Lifts You've seen them in Ballet and theatrical performances. These are dramatic movements that involve great balance and technique. See my video on the Gallery page for a sample.
