Class 1: West Coast Swing Beginners from
Scratch: 6 - 6:50 PM. No Experience needed.
Class 2: West Coast Swing Advance
Beginners: 6:50 - 7:40 PM. Prerequisite Beginner from
Scratch. We'll concentrate on connection, turns and
simple syncopations. This class is half price for any of my
intermediate wcs dancers. If you're not sure, ask me.
Class 3: West Coast
Swing Intermediate 7:40 - 8:30 PM. I'll teach patterns,
syncopations, and musicality. My focus will be on less difficult
moves and more fun and playful patterns. NOTE: I'll be teaching a
choreography class starting April 22, 2010 and a lot of the moves
will be taught in detail this session.
Steve Ryan is a
professional dancer who has been dancing for more than 25 years,
and has won numerous dance competitions throughout that time in
jazz, theatre arts, hustle & west coast swing. He also won a full
scholarship to the studios of Alvin Ailey in NYC. He is an
advanced level dancer on the national swing circuit. He also
danced a feature role in the Sleeping Beauty Ballet in February 2005.
He has choreographed many swing dance routines that were performed
by class members at local dances and at the Syracuse Symphony. He
training in
Los Angeles
with national champions in 2003. He’s a firm believer in strong
technique. He also just finished a teaching tour in
New Zealand
and Australia in 2007.
